Congratulations on your new commercial registration. Before your first customer walks in, most of them will already have looked you up. What they find — or don’t find — shapes whether they call you or the shop next door.
Here’s the order we recommend for new businesses in Saudi Arabia.
1. Secure your name everywhere
Register your domain (.sa or .com) and the same username on Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and X, even if you won’t use all of them yet. Matching names make you easier to find and harder to imitate.
2. Get a logo and simple brand kit
You don’t need a 50-page brand book. You need a clear logo in Arabic and English, two or three colours and one font pair used consistently on your sign, posts and invoices.
3. Create your Google Business Profile
This is the single most valuable free listing for a local business. Add your exact location, hours, phone, WhatsApp and photos, and verify it as early as Google allows.
4. Set up WhatsApp Business
Use a dedicated business number, add your catalogue, a greeting message and quick replies for prices, location and hours. Most Saudi customers will contact you here first.
5. Launch a simple bilingual website
A one-page site with your services, location, WhatsApp button and reviews is enough to start. Make sure it loads fast on mobile — that’s where almost all your visitors will be.
6. Set up e-invoicing properly
Make sure your invoicing is set up in line with ZATCA’s e-invoicing requirements from your first sale. Check ZATCA’s official guidance for what applies to your business, and choose a system that produces compliant invoices automatically.
7. Prepare your first month of content
Plan 8–12 posts before you open: the team, the space, your products, opening offers and answers to common questions. Posting consistently from week one builds trust.
8. Collect your first reviews
Ask friends-and-family customers and your first real customers for honest Google reviews. The first ten reviews shape how everyone after them sees you.
9. Run a small launch campaign
A focused campaign on Snapchat or Google, targeted to your area, can bring your first customers in days. Start small, track WhatsApp clicks and calls, and increase what works.
10. Measure from day one
Track where customers heard about you. Even a simple question at checkout — “How did you find us?” — tells you where to spend your next riyal.
