Hajj & Umrah

Why Hajj and Umrah operators lose bookings without a multilingual website

Pilgrims plan their trip in their own language. If your website only speaks Arabic or English, you're invisible to many of them.

Pilgrims come to Madinah from Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nigeria and dozens of other countries. They plan and book their trips in their own languages — and many of them search for services in those languages too.

Yet most operator websites speak one language. That gap is one of the easiest advantages an operator can create.

What a pilgrim needs to see before booking

  • Clear packages with what’s included: hotel distance from the Haram, transport, meals, visits
  • Prices and dates, or at least a fast way to get them
  • Proof you’re licensed and trustworthy
  • A way to talk to someone in their language — usually on WhatsApp

Which languages to start with

Start with the markets you already serve and the ones you want to grow. For many operators that means Arabic, English and Urdu, then Indonesian or Turkish. It’s better to do three languages properly than ten badly.

Translation isn’t enough

Machine translation of religious terms and travel details can be confusing or even embarrassing. Each language version should be reviewed by a native speaker, use the terms pilgrims actually search for, and have its own page URLs so Google can show the right version.

Make booking easy on mobile

Most pilgrims browse on their phones, often on slow connections. Keep pages light, put the WhatsApp button where thumbs reach, and let people send an enquiry with a few taps.

Advertise in each market

A multilingual site lets you run Google and Meta campaigns in each target country, sending every visitor to a page in their own language. That usually lowers the cost per enquiry compared with sending everyone to one English page.

Build trust

Show your licence details, real photos of the hotels and buses you use, and reviews from past pilgrims in their languages. Trust is the deciding factor for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
